I couldn’t agree with you more. I think you hinted at the reason why there’s no Time anthology on the market: Warner Brothers. Prince may not want to give his former label any more product/profit than necessary. Fortunately, the Time albums are low on filler and easily found on LP. You should be able to grab all of them fairly easily for about $15.

In 2007 Warner Bros. released the “Ultimate Prince” a 2 disc collection of Prince’s greatest hits and rare 12 inch single tracks. My question is when are the fans of Morris Day and The Time going to be blessed with a compilation of their greatest hits? In my opinion, there is no better way to show recognition to an artist (or group of artists) than to compile their most essential works into one package and release it to the fans. The Time have certainly proven themselves worthy of a ‘best of’ collection and their fans certainly deserve one!
