Good review. My 2nd Buddy show, he did not disappoint. The fest built in quality and excitement .. sounds like we agree on Doyle; he and his crew were technically competent, but pretty much “phoned in” their performance. Bettye got the show started and the crowd riled up … I too was thinking, “Why isn’t she playing the Sprint Center like Tina?” And Buddy whipped us into a frenzy… the father of electric blues just gets better with age!

I’d say the crowd was a good mix of college kids, local music fans and the kind of blues crowd a good show at Knuckleheads attracts. No one was disinterested, though. Those two are too good to let any one slip through the cracks.
